Job Posting: Unity Menu/UI/Interaction Prototyper [Paid] [Remote]


General description

We are a new game studio making a 3D top-down shooter in Unity for PC/Switch, focusing on controller as input.

You would be the primary interaction designer and prototyper on the team, working with our lead developer and art director for this games prototype.

This is paid, but our budget is pretty low as we are a small indie game studio just starting out, however we hope to supplement this with equity!

Your qualifications:

  • You’ve played a lot of top-down 3d games (or are willing to)
  • You can discuss the pros and cons of various ways of implementing controller-based menu solutions.
  • You’ve worked on games before (these can be your own projects too).
  • You are able to rapidly bring ideas to life in Unity.
  • You’re comfortable working remotely (any time zone is ok, but we are in California USA) and using Discord, Zoom, and Google Docs.
  • Fluent in english and efficient communicator.
  • 1-2+ years experience with Unity, Unity UI and some C# scripting.
  • Some basic graphic design skills, but visuals aren’t the primary focus here.
  • Experience working with other Unity developers and artists.

Your work:

We have a good understanding of what we want the game prototype to be. We are working on the prototype of the game now (learn more about the stages of work here (we are currently on stage 10). We need someone to work on creating a streamlined UI system that feels really good on controller.
